Thanks to some ACSES problems CSXT's ex Pan Am local BO-1 got hung up at Northey Point stabbing inbound Keolis/MBTA train 106 from West Gloucester (the outer end of the branch to Rockport is currently out of service for an engineering project). Having resolved their issue Pan Am blue GP40-2W MEC 516 is shoving seven cars off Main 1 on to the Danvers Branch destined for the Rousselot plant in Peabody 2 1/2 miles out the Danvers and South Reading Industrial Tracks. As soon as they clear F40PH-3C 1066 will throttle up and shove their train west off Main 2 up to the station on the single track in this telephoto view from the March Street overpass at MP B17.3.
Beyond can be seen the parking garage at the modern station just outside the west portal of the Salem tunnel. The tall brick copper topped tower is the Superior Court building which was initially constructed in an Italian Revival style in 1862, but then was remodeled between 1887 and 1889 in the Richardsonian Romanesque style familiar to New England railfans thanks to the similar design used by many depots of that era.
