UP's Provo Maintenance Facility
Union Pacific DD35A No. 71 idles beneath the wooden steam era sand tower in Provo, Utah on May 5, 1979. Only three of UP's 15 DD35A units (70, 71, 77) received the 24" medallions (UP shield) and the larger 20" road numbers on the cab. Sadly, all 15 were retired and scrapped between 1979 and 1982.
