Cheese and biscuits DSC_9707

I've interpreted the English word for this week as including this selection of salty offerings from further up the cookie aisle in the supermarket. The word "cookie" comes from Dutch, meaning small cake, and the Scottish oatcakes here are certainly very dainty.

Cheeses are Cornish Yarg (wrapped in nettle leaves), oak-smoked cheddar, and a smoked Red Leicester. I made a rod for my own back with the cheeseboard, my best efforts to align every item got upset by trying to align the camera above it all to avoid perspective distortion. For lighting, I covered direct light from the window with a white sheet and used mobile phone torches to fill in shadows.

Histogram adjusted in PP, along with a crop and straighten. The centre of the images was brightened slightly to reduce the effects of shadows.
