Diurnal firefly

Not all fireflies are nocturnal! Some firefly species are out and about during the day. Instead of using flashes to communicate like nocturnal fireflies, they use chemical pheromones. Check out the feathery antennae on this diurnal firefly. Great for gathering pheromones! Thanks to volunteer Kerry for sharing this photo!
