Two gigantic Marion draglines work the Genesee mines, removing the overburden to expose the coal seams about 30-50 feet below the surface. This is the Marion 8200, which was walked across the highway last winter.
It weighs in at 9 Million pounds or 4500 tons. The boom is 102 meters and the bucket is about 85 cubic meters. It has a power output of approximately 20,000 hp. Read about the move here:
