Merewether Beach 2017

This photograph was taken bright and early at 6.30 in the morning. For those of you who do not know me, I am certainly not a morning person. The weather wasn't promising either, with lots of cloud cover at about 5.30 in the morning. Though sleep always seemed the better option, I felt expectant that something magical would emerge. It was an amazing feeling when this shot presented itself right after the sun had risen. I was also fortunate enough to capture this surfer making his way to conquer the waves, which made for a thoughtful subject matter. Above all, this photograph is important to me as it is a reminder to simply have faith in God despite your struggles and frustrating circumstances. I had just received some rather disappointing news yesterday and amidst it all, felt that God was telling me to simply"trust Him". Just like the many obstacles that I overcame through Him, this one won't be any different. It helps to have amazing friends and family who are there for support too. Although I went home with wet and sandy jeans, shoes, a tripod that needed full cleaning and a broken camera cable release, it was definitely worth it!

So let this picture be an encouragement for you today, that God has an amazing plan for you even if you don't see it yet. Just like the rising sun, also remember that:

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." - Lamentations 3:22-23
