When I was a child the manger was displayed underneath the colonnade of the burnt out ruins of the Town Hall, it was at the eastern end adjacent to Birley Street and was facing you as you walked along under the roof of the ground floor. The Town Hall was eventually demolished and replaced by Crystal House.
