Kaya Mezarları Myra Antik Kenti / Rock Tombs Myra Ancient City
Myra’da iki Likya nekropolü vardır, bunlar tiyatronun üzerindeki kayalıkta ve onun doğusunda nehir nekropolü olarak adlandırılan bölgede toplanmıştır. Kaya mezarlarının çoğu uzaktan büyük bir ev gibi görünürler, bazıları da tapınak şeklindedir. Nehir nekropolünün en dikkat çeken mezarı gezgin Charles Fellows'ın 1840 yılında kaya mezarlarını gördüğü zaman hala kırmızı, sarı, mavi ve mor renkleri seçebildiğini söylediği “Resimli Mezar”dır, günümüzde bu renkler görülemez sadece kırmızı ve mavi renklerden izler vardır. Bu mezarda diğer bir dikkat çeken şey gerçek ölçülerde kabartma şeklinde yapılmış on bir insan figürüdür.
There are two Lycian necropolises in Myra, they are gathered on the rock above the theater and in the area called the river necropolis to the east of it. Most of the rock tombs look like a big house from afar, and some are temple-shaped. The most striking tomb of the river necropolis is the “Picture Tomb”, which the traveler Charles Fellows said when he saw the rock tombs in 1840, he could still choose the colors red, yellow, blue and purple. These colors cannot be seen today, there are only traces of red and blue. Another remarkable thing in this tomb is the eleven human figures made in relief in real sizes.
