Brown Bear Fishing at Brooks Falls Alaska

The brilliant breeding colors of the salmon make them very visible in the cold clear waters of Alaska. Brown bears are expert fishermen (or fisherbears). They have various methods for catching salmon. One method is called snorkeling. Bears put their heads just under the water and look for the fish they catch. Then grab them with their mouth. This guy looks pretty pleased with his catch.
