Devon General 1187 (FDV 819V)

Fresh out of the paintshop in what was at the time, the brand new livery to replace NBC poppy red, is Devon General 1187 (FDV 819V), an ECW bodied Bristol VRT. Unusual to catch one without adverts! Snapped on 14 November 1986.

I was never a fan of the fleetnames between the decks, it just didn't look right but it was kind of 'trendy' at the time and a lot of operators were doing it. They also got in the way of large side adverts. In the event, DG relented and moved the fleetnames back to the conventional (and obvious!) place between the wheelarches as seen here in kwk33f's photo of the same bus.
