Zeiss Ikon Bob 510/2
Zeiss Ikon decided, for reasons logical only to them, that they wanted to bring back the Bob camera name after nearly a decade. So the decision was made to rebadge a small number of Nettars for a short period of time for that purpose. Below I am sharing an example of one of those reincarnations of a Bob.
Zeiss Ikon Bob 510/2
120 6x9cm Folding Camera (B 92844)
Nettar-Anastigmat 105/f7.7-22
3-element uncoated lens
Gauthier-Automat B, T, 1/25, 1/75 sec. Everset Leaf shutter
Brilliant viewfinder, Cable release, & Tripod sockets
Accepts 27mm push-on lens filter
Made in Germany (1937-38) Rebadged Nettar
Sometimes we lose context in our critiques and judge these vintage cameras like they are new models on the shelf. It shouldn’t matter now what the comparisons were between them 50 to 100 years ago, or how they may compare to cameras made today. Now they are all beautiful collector items and an important part of history!
