Sidelined

The caboose was once the staple of freight trains across America. Since the invention of "end of train devices" they've become obsolete and most have been lost to history or stuffed and mounted in museums. Occasionally you'll find a survivor, still sitting at the last spot it was switched into, watching the mainlines where they once ruled.
