7029 Lympsham

Opportunities of getting Great Western motive power locally on home territory are limited these days compared to when I first started out in this hobby all those years ago. While I wouldn't describe myself as a steam fanatic, I will go out on impulse if I feel up for the challenge.

On a hazy evening, 7029 "Clun Castle" (with 37240 on the rear) strides across the Somerset Levels with the 1Z41 17.00 Minehead (ex. 18.40 off Bishops Lydeard)-Birmingham New Street "Whistling Ghost" excursion. The local landmark of Brent Knoll hillfort features in the background.
