It’s a bit of a paradox. Damian hates zoos, regards visitors - his fee-paying customers - with distain, and yet has increased the popularity of the Parks, particularly Port Lympne that he has turned into some kind of hotel where you can, for example, hire the two-bedroom Tiger Lodge, which is lined in giant (presumably thick) glass walls, and sits partially right inside the tiger enclosure so you can get up close and personal to the beasts. So much for respecting the animals’ privacy! [If you want to stay in the Tiger Lodge prices start at £1,000 per night.]
When John ran the Parks he made no secret of the fact that the animals needs, including privacy, came first. I find Damian’s attitude a tad hypocritical….
