HISTORY
Pillar completed 13th September 1949 costing £15.17s.0d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NO89/T25, and levelled to second class precision during 1950. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in September 1983.
SITE VISIT
Approached from southeast. The bottom of the windfarm track appears to have been relocated north, however good parking for a few cars has now been provided off the west side of the B979 at ~NO861908. Thereafter most of the walk was on the new windfarm road until very near the top with a short trot across the heather. The pillar is in good condition. Spider has replacement OS centre cap with raised small narrow letters. The flush bracket faces ESE, compass measurement 109°. Vented through NE and SW sight holes, innards filled with debris. Full 360° panoramic view from trig.
