Overlooking the camp is Pines' good friend, Alice.
During Thanksgiving, she joined the water protectors at Standing Rock. She carried the blessings of all of us at Pines as well as our donations of green superfoods.
The DAPL pipeline threatens not only the #StandingRock Nation but those down river, too. It was not necessary to cross the river, yet the pipeline route goes back and forth under the river to avoid denser populations. As the sign says, pipelines have suffered 3,300 ruptures and leaks since 2010. Running a pipeline under the water supply for millions is irresponsible.
The top left shows the fresh water #MotherEarth gives us. To the right is an oily snake going under the river. The superimposed word, "NO" is for those who take unnecessary risks with our #water. Below that is one of the cases of Pines' Green Duo distributed to kitchens in the camp to help provide #stamina and #endurance for the long winter ahead.
Pines is proud to be a #waterprotector. Unlike others, Pines' greens are not produced bythe meat industry's animal feed dehydrators that depend on irrigation. Instead, we use our own clean, modern, #vegan-friendly facilities designed for humans. Our equipment is only used for Certified #Organic, #NonGMOProject Verified, #glutenfree, #Kosher greens. We do not need and never use irrigation.
Pines wants to move away from #fossilfuel like what will flow in the #DAPL #pipeline, including the #petrochemical plastic used to package most other #greensuperfoods. We package with amber glass bottles and special metal caps. We remove the oxygen from each bottle to protect the greens from oxidation and nutrient loss that occurs with plastic containers. The seal in the metal cap keeps products fresh after opening.
In our 40 years, we have never used plastic packaging. Plastic is not only a petrochemical, but it can contaminate the contents in plastic containers. And those contents are often grown with water pumped from an nearly-depleted ancient aquifer, and it is contaminated with chemical poisons from GMO agribusiness.
