Shades of the C&NW
A peaceful June night is broken by the roar of UP 6706 leading ZLCG2 underneath the historic coaling tower in DeKalb, IL, both relics of the former Chicago & Northwestern whose rails are still plied as today's UP Geneva Subdivision. Look closely and you can still see hints of 6706's former life along the long hood as CNW 8804.
How long either will be around is a mystery, but it's good to think back as to what once was.
