Marsh Sunset 4.4

While on a photo trip this fall, I spent a whole afternoon trying to find a good location for sunset photos. Late in the day, I was getting desperate when I spotted this row of dead trees from 2 miles distant. Driving in that direction, I soon realized that these trees were near the road. It was in a marshy area, so I decided to do my sunset photos here.

I know no one else does this, but sometimes I get so focused on the sunset that I forget to look behind myself. This was one of those situations where I was waiting for the after sunset colors to develop and I happened to look behind me. The pink glow had started in the eastern sky behind this row of trees. I literally picked up my tripod with camera and ran in that direction about 100 yards. Not that easy when you're 62 running along a rutted trail covered with grass. I made it without face planting.

I realize that this b&w photo has some issues, but I liked the overall mood and the composition well enough to add it to my Flickr page.

This photo was 3 horizontal photos stitched in Lightroom 6.
