That was Banbury station that was
It's over, let it go.... This view now goes back two eras for it dates from the late 1930s, before the wooden station building was replaced in 1956, and more recently, the track has been simplified.
In the distance, the far platform used to have a track alongside, and this has been restored, albeit by widening the platform and making it a through platform. The ex-GCR B5 has an excursion in the North Bay which in 1956 became a dual-faced platform road, in recent years only used for storing Turbos overnight, and now filled in.
And in the foreground, the goods platform, for quite some time part of the car park, has finally had the track lifted. Quite a few changes, then!
The abundance of cattle trucks harks back to something else that's disappeared: Banbury Cattle Market. More about the cattle traffic and trains in this view on my w/s: www.steve-org
