Ignorning me DSC_0564

Dunbar (Northern Mockingbird) has gotten pretty used to me now. So much in fact that he ignores me even when I have the camera.

In this image he is perched on a Crepe Myrtle tree branch, patiently waiting for the other birds to arrive so he can play his part (bully) in the bird show.

It appears that Dunbar has decided that the little swing feeder and the main feeder are his and no one else is allowed to partake in the treats that belong to him. And for now, it appears that he has given up on trying to control the other four feeding stations.

All of the beauty berries are gone as well as the Simpson stopper berries. So, Dunbar doesn't have to worry about guarding those either. The berries really went fast this year. In the past berries lasted beyond February when I cut the bushes back in order to stimulate new growth. When I did cutbacks, I would leave the branches that had berries on them beside the bush so the birds could pick through them. There will be no need for that this year.

Have a splendid day, happy snapping.
