Twilight at the Crossroads
Silhouette shot of self along the GR131 (Transvulcania Trail) on the Caldera de Taburiente near Pico de la Cruz (alt. 2300m). Taken during evening twilight "blue hour" looking toward the Observatorio Roque de Los Muchachos on the island of La Palma in the Canaries. The Calima phenomenon (dust-laden air from the Sahara) as well as airglow contributed to the brilliant atmospheric hues. A few telescope domes can be seen silhouetted in the distance on Fuente Nueva ridge as they prepare for a night's work. The crescent moon and Jupiter are visible on the left.
