The WOW word for this picture was rhythm. When I looked the exact definition of rhythm up, it said that it is a strong, regular, and repeated pattern of movement or sound. For this picture, I decided to choose the idea of the regular repetition of sound. When I thought of repetition of sound, I immediately thought of the ticking sound of a clock or a watch. I thought that just a watch would create a quite plain photo. Therefore, I decided to expand further on the idea of repetition by repeating the same color in the photograph.
The subject in this photo is the watch. Since the majority of the watch had the color blue, I decided to make the composition of the photo more interesting by surrounding the watch with other objects that have the same color. I added blue ropes, a blue key chain, and other blue objects. First, I had put the watch and the objects on a brown colored floor. That didn't look very nice so I put the watch and the object on a surface that is white and blue. This created even more repetition of the color blue. It also created more contrast. I also experimented with the shutter speed. First, I had a faster shutter speed which made everything in the photo look darker. When I slowed down the shutter speed, I thought that it created a nice effect and seemed to create more contrast again. To take this photo, I also used a wide aperture to create a shallow depth of field. This way, the picture looked less flat.
