Objective 3: Composition Techniques – Use the guide on the website
Rule of Thirds- The image shows rule of thirds because the tree line is on the top line and the plant also applies to the rule of third cross
Perspective and depth- The plant in the front close up gives it depth compared to the trees in the background
Colour- The sun set creates warm colors for the image. The warm colors make the picture inviting
Balance- The eye is drawn to all parts of the image because of the sunset in the background and the plant up close and in focus
Objective 4: Lighting (side, back, soft, hard, fill)
Types of lighting and how they contribute to the image: The image has soft lighting from the sunset
Objective 5: Post Production (resize, contrast, sharpening, and others you have done)
Corrections/adjustments made: resize, darken, and sharpen
Objective 6: Critique
Analyse your photograph for strengths and areas for improvement (consider composition, lighting, exposure, overall feel, etc.)
Strength: The lighting I go from the sunset
Area for growth: Have more light on the plant
Objective 7: Photographic Styles (ex. portrait, landscape, etc.) – Explain why the settings and composition are appropriate for the style of photography. (How did you create the shot?)
Type/style of photography: landscape
The camera mode (P, Tv, Av, M): AV, to get the recommended shutter speed
f stop used: 5.6 I wanted that range because I didn’t want anything that was un-necessary and distracting
shutter speed used: 1/3200 recommended for my photo
ISO used: 1600 Wasn’t very bright out and worked with the sunset
Exposure compensation: 0 didn’t want the picture brighter o darker
Focal length: 55.0mm to get close enough to the plant without getting all the un-necessary grass in the front
