Macro Monday – White Paper

Don't really remember what you call these things (Fortune Tellers??) but everybody used to make them when I was in school (many years ago!). Long before the digital age or 8 ball fortune tellers they were a simple idea if you could make one. On the outside, written on the four corners, were different colours, you got your “victim” to pick a colour and moved the thing with your fingers back and forward and side to side to correspond with the amount of letters. Inside were a series of numbers and again like the colours, the process was repeated a couple of times before your “victim” choose a number, on folding back the number there was something written (by the maker), e.g. that the “victim” was alleged to love someone or more often than not something derogatory about the victim or their family. Completely childish but it passed many an “uncomfortable” hour in the playground/classroom/ or the walk home!!

What was surprising about this genre was not that it took ages to get the white balance right, and I'm not convinced that it is as it should be! But, that nearly 50 years later I remembered how to to make one of these childish origami's, much to the surprise and delight of family and friends. I have to confess though, that once made, the themes that were written inside this time are of a slightly more adult theme than all those years ago ;0) HMM.
