Dendrochilum latifolium

An 8-image closeup stacked with helicon focus. This shows about 2 cm of a 30 cm long raceme. Another fascinating orchid photographed in the Peter Black Conservatory, Victoria Esplanade, Palmerston North.

Dendrochilum latifolium grows about half a metre high and has spectacular spikes over 30 cm long. It is very impressive and easily produces numerous racemes that last for several weeks. (coelogynes.com/Dendrochilum latifolium.html)
