Upper Sturt Soldiers' Memorial Hall of 1935, South Australia
On Saturday 7 September Mrs George Wescombe laid the foundation stone of the Upper Sturt Soldiers’ Memorial Hall.
Afternoon tea followed in the school, at which more than 100 persons were catered for. In the evening a concert was held in the church.

The opening of the Upper Sturt Memorial Hall was held on Saturday 14 December 1935. The weather was beautiful and a large crowd attended.
The hall is a fine structure, built of freestone, and has an attractive porch-type entrance. It has been built at a cost of £700.
Mr. E. J. Rossini, a member of the 48th Battalion, made a speech in keeping with the occasion, and formally declared the hall open.
