Darnall, Sheffield 1978

Class 76 nos. 76013 & 76021 approach Darnall station heading the AC/DC 'Deadmans Handle' railtour on 16th September 1978. The train had worked from Birmingham via Stafford, Crewe and Manchester Piccadilly, before taking the Woodhead route to Tinsley Yard and Rotherwood. After reversal, it returned, as seen here, via Sheffield Victoria and Woodhead. Other motive power used were 84002, 25204 & 25131.
