Calculation of the Period of a Physical Pendulum (1/2)

As always, we start with Newton's 2nd Law (in this case the rotational version, tau=I alpha) and try to obtain an equation that has the negative of a function directly proportional to its second derivative. Note the use of the small angle approximation again. Once the equation is obtained, we simply need to calculate the moment of inertia (to the right of the meterstick,) plug into our new equation, and solve for T.
