Volleyball: Sturgis Districts

For three sets Thurs-day night, Vicksburg was just better.

The Lady Bulldogs, playing in the district fi-nals against Sturgis, knocked off the Lady Tro-jans in four sets to claim the Class B, District 34 crown.

It wasn’t just a season-ending loss for Sturgis, but also the final match of head coach VonMetzger’s 25- year career. Metzger guided the Lady Trojans to a 50-7-2mark this season. Both he and his wife Con-nie have been the back-bone of the Sturgis vol-leyball program, but are deciding to step away.
