MEC Maine Central YR-1 GP-7U #591 Eastbound Wiley Brook Bridge Oct 7, 1982.
The Maine Central was a frugal railroad an here is a classic example on it. RY-2 came out Rigby usually acquiring another unit to get through the Notch and based the Mountain Local out of Bartlett with Agent assigned there, I worked it a couple of times and there was not a lot to do. The Local’s on duty was based on the arrival time of YR-1 who will set out the lead unit #591 originally built the L&N as their #433 that they added to their consist last night going West. This was pretty good locomotive utilization. Changes were in the wind.
