Hey guys. I can't say enough how much I appreciate all the hard work our editors put in every day. I'm so sorry to hear some of the new editor accounts have been deleted recently.

.

Let's first start by talking about what's going on. Bare in mind I have no inside information, but this is my best guess as I see it.

.

First of all it's important to understand it's not at all personal. No one has looked at your account and said "kill it". Basically, if your account was deleted, you are civilian collateral damage in the war between Instagram and the spammers. Put simply, a spammer wants to create tons of posts and Instagram wants to stop them. Because the whole goal for the spammers is volume. Both sides fight mostly with computers and formulas and not fingers on keyboards. So we know the planning field now.

The question is how to stay out of the line of fire. Answer. Do your best to look like someone with fingers and not a mindless computer. Here are some tips.

jj_editor_self_less_: Created my 3rd new account on Tuesday but still didn't get the conformation email. Yes, I'd searched in bulk mail & trash as well. That makes me worry now that I've read above... @joshjohnson @kris_prototype @wdnesday

 

jj_editor_diocampo_: The "new account" I made is actually an old account that I forgot I still have and still active. I just changed the bio and name. I was trying to ask Josh if there's a way for JJ to verify if someone is a bonafide editor of JJ community knowing that the current situation can be an opportunity for someone to pose as a JJ editor. I take pride for being approved as a new JJ editor and it would be unfair if someone can just pretend and edit. Josh said to just ignore and block people who are pretending. But I don't have a list of JJ editors and even my editor account have not been followed by @jj_editors since I created it. I don't want my editing job be ignored and blocked by the JJ community. @wdnesday

 

jj_editor_lmo413: I'm wondering if any of the new editors confirmed their accounts first time around. I didn't. But I didn't check my emails either. Saw it yesterday. I confirmed the new account.

 

kris_prototype: @tapurdevang2 I would suggest not to worry since email confirmation is not happening in every country or state it differs based on above criteria. Just do as @joshjohnson mentioned above. Don't worry just have fun with jj community :) & you also don't want to create to many account!!
