We're Not In Appalachia Anymore
Would you call LHF running N&W or Southern style? NS never really dropped the practice, too ingrained in their roots. Well, that's really because NS D41 here has to run around its train in Urbana when it's time to come home, but still.
I originally set out to shoot this train at CP Mills, hoping for a northbound at those signals to complete my Wabash signal roster, but I was a bit too slow. I did nab him at Lodge and also here, just south of Mansfield. NS2717 is a recently re-activated SD70M-2, making it a current hot item on NS. Of course, it does look identical to SD70ACes, and while I'm personally not a big fan of the ACe/M2, it's still better than the SD60E that we were cursed with for so long. I dare say that the 6975 might have been sent away at last... if this is its replacement, I won't even complain. Could be a lot worse, no?
Anyways, farm fields, telegraph lines, and long-hood-forward EMDs. How much more N&W style can we get today?
