Oelwein alley (Rudolf home), in 1919 named after the technician Arthur Oelwein (1837-1917), an engineer at the Empress Elisabeth Railway (from 1876), deputy director for railway construction in the kk State Railway Directorate (1892-1903), professor at the University of Agricultural Sciences (1890-1909). In the years 1892-1903 Oelwein was construction supervisor of the Vienna Metropolitain railway; he built the Wiental (valley of the river Vienna) and the Danube channel line. The street was originally named Charles alley and then to 1919 Franz Carl alley after archduke Franz Karl.

Staatsbahndirektion (1892–1903), Professor an der Hochschule für Bodenkultur (1890–1909). In den Jahren 1892–1903 war Oelwein Bauleiter der Wiener Stadtbahn; er errichtete die Wiental- und die Donaukanallinie. Die Gasse hieß ursprünglich Karlsgasse und dann bis 1919 Franz-Carl-Gasse nach Erzherzog Franz Karl.
