Buttermere Triptych No. 1
More images from my trip to Buttermere at the end of April.
I should have known I wasn't really in a fit state when I realised half way up the M6 that I had forgotten to pack any coats, or a tripod! Did I turn back and lick my wounds? No, like an idiot I carried on.
Still - after a detour to Carlisle to the wonderful Wilkinson Cameras to pick up a tripod - I got some nice images!
I love going back to the same places in different seasons. I hadn't seen Buttermere or Crummock in the late spring before. It was at the start of the dry spell, so it was sunshine and clear skies for the most part.
I took three new images of the famous Buttermere trees. No drama in the lighting but this place is so photogenic I still love them. They were taken early-ish - about 6:30am - but the sun had come up before 5 so I was way out of golden hour.
I will be posting each of the 3 in colour and black and white over the next couple of weeks.
Here's the first - a close-up - in colour.
