Stowe - Gothic Temple

The Gothic Temple was designed in the 1740s by James Gibbs. Not the sort of archaeologically correct gothic that the victorians would approve of a century later but equally not the frothy rococo gothick of, say, Horace Walpole's Strawberry Hill. To explain all those angles, the building is triangular with pentagonal towers at each corner.
