Swan Song

I have been holding out at the lake with the hope of seeing more swans as they migrate south. With bad weather in the forecast the time to head back to Toronto was today. I woke up to see two beautiful swans on the water. I went out with camera and a bag of bread in hand and they posed for me. (Bread to them is like chocolate to us, so I only gave them a little bit.)

For those of you who have been to the cottage you know there is about a 3 foot drop to the water from the bank and I wanted to try and capture this at eye level so I got down really low, not an easy task for me. I was delighted that the swan obliged and tucked his head down for the shot too, so we both got down low.

 

A happy side note: Swan Ava was spotted today near Midland, Ontario making her way south from North Bay with a group of swans.
