Truro Cathedral - HDR

Truro is the main city in Cornwall.

It's main attraction is it's Gothic- Revival Cathedral, built to the designs of J.L. Pearson, a 19th Century architect also noted for building the existing Bristol Cathedral and restoring various Churches and Cathedrals across the British Isles.

Truro's Cathedral started life as St Mary's Church, this was demolished to make way for the new Cathedral but the South Aisle was left where it can be seen south of the Choir.

Taking 30 years to build, it was completed in 1910 but Pearson had already died before his building was complete.

The main Spire reaches 250 ft and is 1 of only 3 Cathedrals in Britain where all 3 towers have spires, the other most notable being Lichfield.
