This is my storyboard for the project that I am undertaking in Advanced 3D Character Animation.
My inspiration for this story came from a short animation film produced for a student showcase. The film was based on a female alien character that was singing "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor.
I started the storyboard process by producing a rough sketch on paper befor drawing my storyboard into photoshop. The storyboard provides meaningful visual communication allowing an appropriate amount of space for the scene, timing, picture & colouring, direction, description, audio & alternative
The storboard effectively communicates its humerous theme from the moment when the Minion first appears being pushed on screen by an anonymus hand to the end scene where the Minion is knocked off screen by the wrecking ball.
It clearly communicates the Minions character trait which is portrayed by the nervous look in its eyes. The action is represented by "X-Factor" where the Minion is undertaking its first audition.
The backing musicfor this piece of animation is "Wrecking Ball" as sung by Miley Cyrus, the irony of it being how the character is booted off screen by the wrecking ball after his audition.
