The Scottish Invasive Species Initiative (SISI) is a 4-year partnership project which aims to establish and support a network of local organisations and volunteers to engage with their local river environment and implement community-based strategic management of Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) in rivers and watercourses in northern Scotland.

You are welcome to use any of our photographs, we hope they will help in spreading the word about the problems and impacts of invasive species and help raise awareness of invasive non-native species.

A team of project staff delivers the project in partnership with our partners; NatureScot, ten different Fisheries Trusts/Fishery Boards and Aberdeen University. Funding for the project is from the Heritage Lottery Fund and NatureScot. The project area covers approx. 29,500 km2 of northern Scotland, encompassing northern Perthshire, Angus, Aberdeenshire, Moray & Highland. The project will end in Nov 2021.
