I am former feral child, trying to be a helpful older adult conservationist, using a camera, and now a blog.
I took an outdoors childhood for granted. Then I saw the natural resources that filled this childhood with beauty and wonder disappearing. Now in my 7th decade, I record and share what I’m now seeing, the best that I can in photos, to raise awareness of nature’s vulnerabilities and the wonders of nature that can yet be lost from from our lives. Especially, our everyday lives.
I live Decatur, Georgia. A small town six miles up the railroad track from Atlanta, Georgia, well inside the I285 perimeter and deep inside metro-Atlanta. I emphasize this point because many of my photos are from this setting. I’m hoping that these photos will help my immediate metro-Atlanta neighbors and all of y’all that live in similar settings appreciate the beauty of the nature right outside our doors. Leading us all to become everyday conservationists.
I shoot Olympus gear. There are many reasons which I will explain in blog posts that feature the subjects, habitats, conditions and outdoor experiences for which I think this system is best suited – for me.
