RELEASE VISUAL ARTS
Natural from Ribeirão Preto – SP - Brazil, João Naccarato was born on June 23 th 1984 and began his paintings in 2003. Currently, with more than 200 paintings and some artistic interventions spread across urban fabric in the city of Ribeirão Preto, John has been beginning to take his first steps.
Besides being a self-taught painter, Naccarato is also an Urbanist Architect and works professionally as a musician, which influence the design of his works. In his job as Visual Artist, his paintings in oil on canvas have striking features from European Vanguard Negative Movements such as Dadaism and Surrealism. His creative impulse has been spilt on the canvas, following a conscious flow, to represent something beyond the real, as required by the aesthetic movement.
In this new period of his life, the artist mixed painting techniques in oil, acrylic, pen and permanent stencil on canvas and MDF, joining characteristical elements from his surrealism influences in his new language that marks the characteristical ones from the street art.

The streets of the southern region of Ribeirão Preto are more colorful. Every day the villagers are surprised by a pole painted by the musician and artist John Naccarato, 27. The artist began a month ago which turns art into urban intervention. Since then, he has been painting eight lampposts and six manhole grids, giving them a different look.
John decided to apply the idea in Ribeirão Preto inspired on the group "6:30" from São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro street art. The intention is to change the urban landscape and people's daily lives in his way to work or to school, in order to become them more joyful. "It's interesting to surprise the person who spends all day at the same place and suddenly faces with an artistic intervention" comments.
Besides passing a joyful image, John believes that we must bring art to the public. According to the musician, now the values are reversed. "The artist searches for streets, graffiti artists and the museum. This is a tendency in contemporary art. Art should not be arrested; it is for everyone," he says.
The time he takes to paint each lamppost or manhole grid is four hours on average. The artist uses acrylic paints and latex and abuses of colors combination and distinctive features of Vanguard Negative European movements such as Dadaism [characterized by a lack of direction in the way] and Surrealism [combines representative, the abstract, the unreal and the unconscious in arts].
John writes all stages of painting and then put the videos on internet so that people can follow the creation process.
The musician works alone and does not earn for the work. Moreover, he has to afford all material costs he uses.
In order to work in more spaces, the artist has developed a project for the City Hall, named "Art is for Everyone." "I have been waiting for the approval and authorization to have the resources to do the job in other parts of the city," he says.
The Town Secretary of Culture said that has been studying a way to help the painter, "but right now, Ribeirão Preto city is working on both the Old Town project as the revitalization of the central quadrangle and Clean City"
