Growing up, I had a father who was very much into photography (he was a newspaper photo editor), but it never rubbed off on me. Or did it? Now, years after his death I'm slowly beginning to get the bug.

Bought my first digital camera in 1998 - the Fuji DX-7 - and snapped hundreds of photos of my new daughter. Upgraded to a Canon A40 in 2003 and started shooting in thousands. Finally, in 2007, I got my first DSLR - the Canon 400D (XTi). Now I am having fun!

My wife thinks I'm crazy, but just browsing through Flickr makes me realize how much beauty and fun there is in photography. All I've got to do now is move away from the family and holiday 'snaps' and try and be a bit more adventurous.
