I live in DC as of May 2007, and work for a peace lobby on Capitol Hill. I work primarily on constituent relations-type stuff, keeping information on our grassroots network, sending out information on who we are and what we work on, and helping teach people how to not be scared of calling their Congresspeople.
I live with eight twentysomething roommates in what the Washington Post describes as a "desolate Northeast" neighborhood. We're about half crunchy granola hiker hippie folkie NGO-worker activists and half bad beer drinking nintendo playing somewhat socially conscious recent college grads. And the cat. It seems to work.
I also contra dance, morris dance, sing bawdy folk songs (and not-so-bawdy-ones), go to lots of folk festivals and on plenty of roadtrips, read lots of non-fiction (and plenty of fiction), camp frequently and volunteer at a women's shelter and a domestic violence crisis hotline. I'm going to Burundi for six weeks at the end of June - that's so soon!
Such is my life at present, and a good life it is.
