I live in Ringwood, Hampshire on the edge of the beautiful New Forest in the UK. My working background is in engineering design but throughout my life I have also had a passion for photography and art. My creative spirit has taken me on many enjoyable experiences in both these fields. I have been taking photographs and producing art when time allows since I was a teenager. In the field of photography, over the years, I have found inspiration in a wide range of subjects but my primary interest is photographing the landscape and more recently botanical subjects. It is the beauty of nature and all its manifestations which inspires me to photograph the land, sea and sky but it is the plants and flowers within a landscape which when observed closely reveal nature’s innermost and intimate beauty. Their colours, texture and form are a wonder to behold and I find composing each photograph a completely absorbing and immensely rewarding experience. I predominately take pictures for my own enjoyment but if other people like them that's a bonus. Many have been taken in my own garden which I designed myself and then over four years in my spare time built and planted it out, completing it during the COVID pandemic. Because I also have a keen interest in art I naturally like to experiment with a photograph using the digital tools available to create an artistic representation of a plant or flower.
