Beat Generation 2013 welcomes you to an exciting one off event, which showcases works on paper by creative Fine Art students from Southampton Solent University.

Held opposite the City’s Art Gallery in Watts Park on the 9th & 10th March and just a stone’s throw from Southampton Solent University. We present some exciting, new artists with the chance to exhibit in the city centre and offer the local community a chance to buy some affordable art.

Drawing on the success of recent shows, such as the Royal College of Arts annual post card exhibition and Tracey Emin’s works on paper at the Turner Contemporary; this event brings the work of emerging artists into the public view. The outdoor location feeds on the hugely successful Frieze art fair, using a temporary space in a park to display artwork.

This is an exciting opportunity for the public to meet some of the exhibiting artists and be able to converse with them about their work over drinks and refreshments. We hope that this event will be successful in bridging a connection with the local community and contemporary artists.
