I am in the financial industry. A "numbers guy" who never showed any interest in photography and even used to make fun of the tourists taking pictures of anything other than themselves. Go buy a postcard if you like the view!
When my wife almost forced me to buy her a DSLR as an anniversary gift, I desperately tried to pursuade her that this would be a waste of money and that she would forget about it in a coupe of days. This is exactly what happend - she played with it for a few minutes and completely lost any interest.
But as I was trying to justify this expensive purchase in my mind by reading various reviews and comparisons, I discovered a whole new world of colors, compositions, depth of field and frozen moments. As I was learning the buttons on the camera and the new terms, I found out that a camera can see so much more than my eyes. This made me look at the world around in a completely different way.
I hope to meet people with the same passion to learn from them and perhaps share my experiences.
