When I take a picture, rarely is it a posed portrait. Posing for a picture falsifies the image. It doesn't tell the truth of what is happening, it shows people what you want them to see. Instead, I want to capture the essence of a person, of their personality... so nearly all of my shots are candid portraits.

Music always brings a group of people together for a shared passion. There is nothing more real and honest than an artist opening themselves up and performing for friends and strangers alike, and the response of those people enjoying the music. I always feel honored to be able to capture that honesty and freeze that moment of their life in time...to be a part of that story.

... and when those people have grown and they’ve changed and perhaps forgotten the details of that one night they saw that band... they will have my pictures to look back on and help them remember.
