Since I can remember anything at all, I've been intrigued by the process of photography. My first camera was a small film camera at the age of 6 or 7 during a period of time when digital photography hadn't yet caught on and the magic of film was still very alive and real. Even before that little red camera that was a glorified disposable camera that allowed for the use of your own rolls of film, I was the kind of kid who was inthralled in the mystery of how things worked and if a camera was brought into the room I happened to be in then it meant I wanted to get my hand on it and experiment with the seemingly never ending dials and buttons that a camera requiring knowledge and experience to use inevitably possessed. My grand-father was always the family photographer and although most fathers eventually gain some experience with a camera in the pursuit of documenting their children's journey through life I could always tell that my Grand-father cared more than the average person when it came to getting a photograph worth having. I sharpened my skills when it comes to photography mainly with the use of a digital camera and it wasn't until many years later that I came to understand just how hard it is to obtain consistent, well lit and visually sharp and in focus photographs with an analog 35mm film camera. I am proud to carry on the interest and fascination with photography in my family. With the click of a button we have the power to capture a moment in time that can live on for centuries. I choose to take advantage.
