Ian Addison Collection
Drag to set position!
This portfolio has been set up in memory of Ian Addison, who was born in Kirkcaldy on the 7th May 1957 and sadly passed away on 12th November 2012. He spent the first 6 years of his life in Denburn Place and his home was close to the railway line. His Mum, Margaret would take him and his sister Ann to see the trains go by and this is where Ian's fascination with trains started. He later attended Heriot Watt University where he graduated with a degree in Design Engineering. He went to work for Fife Tool Design in Leven as a design engineer and later established his own business, Fife Design Engineering.
Ian's main hobby was trains and he was keen on photographing the real sized trains and was a member of the Lochty Preservation Society. He was also a keen railway modeller and was a member of the Glenrothes Model Railway Club and the East Neuk Model Railway Club. Nicknamed, Hoggie, he was key part of the Railway Scene in his life and was always seen at Model Railway Shows. He was well respected by all who knew him and he had an encyclopaedic knowledge of all aspect of the subject. He was a very helpful and caring man.
These photos were entrusted to Keith Verden-Anderson when Ian passed away and I am happy to share them with you in memory of Ian and in memory of the varied and exciting railway that existed in Ian's life. A big thanks goes to Bruce Galloway who was instrumental in setting up this Flickr site and who has assisted in the scanning and cleaning up the photos and in coaching me in the skills required.
We hope that you enjoy this site,
